Meet my childhood hobby, the TARDIS.  This is where I learnt about all things gadget like and electronic!

Its an unusual place, was rather famous for it at school and it’s still a local landmark now, looks more like the Star Ship Enterprise than the TARDIS, I spent many an hour up there as a kid from 1987 till I left school, got a job and discovered cars!

The TARDIS shed was built as a “den” by my farther after we moved to our present house.  It was simple at first, the sister & I would sit up there and play offices and banks in the days before games consoles and wheelie shoes.

Being an avid Dr Who & Star Trek fan plus developing an interest in electronics things soon started to change in the TARDIS  and things started to be built as I craved for more knowledge.

Everything was low voltage in its first few years, was a bit young to play with mains!  But, make do I did and it was indeed a crazy place to be !

At first a control console was built and filled with state of the art? chuck outs.  Anything that looked technical was added along with rather a lot of light bulbs!

In the early 90’s the TARDIS gained an extension over doubling its size, it was at this point things went a tad more Enterprise than TARDIS!

I built large glass panels and sloped controls, some functioning.  Yellow & red alerts were added, self destruct mode & a sound studio where as kids we made radio shows which later became video shows called Totally Tapped, loosely based on Saturday morning shows of the time, an age gone by now when kids had imagination!

Once I discovered cars the TARDIS fell into moth balls, used mainly for storage it sat there unloved for about 9 years

In October 2004 this all changed when the Discovery Channel featured the TARDIS on one of it’s shows as a shed of distinction.  It was at this point the TARDIS had a bit of a freshen up and make over and once again became a usable space, not that anything was changed from when it was left in 1998.

Come summer 2006 the TARDIS had its first big change since 1998, my spare rear supra seat was turned into a sofa to replace one of the panels.  The studio was given an upgrade and cinema was added.

To this day the TARDIS now acts as a private relaxation space & editing suit for a huge MP3 database we have been compiling through backing up of our CD collection for the last few years.  Sheds are making a comeback!  Every man should have one to escape to, the wilder the better!
